Enrollment Procedure

We are very happy that you are considering enrolling your child in St. Paul Lutheran School.  The following enrollment information is designed to make your introduction to our school family as helpful as possible.

Children enrolling in Early School (PRE-KINDERGARTEN) must be three or four years of age by September 30th.  Children enrolling in first grade must be six years of age by September 30th.

1.  For returning students, please send a completed form and the $400 registration fee (or a $100 deposit) to the school office.  A space cannot be reserved for your child without the form completely filled out and the fee.  Total payment of the registration fee as well as the school support fee and the P.T.L. fee must be completed prior to the beginning of school.

2.  If you are a new enrollee, you must submit the following:

  • Immunization Card
  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate
  • Latest Report Card
    NOTE:  All new enrollees must schedule an appointment with the Principal.  Your child must attend this meeting.  An entrance test will be given for second graders and above.  Upon acceptance, the registration form and the registration fee (or registration fee deposit) are required to hold a spot for your child.

3.  If your child is accepted for the 2010-2011 school term and then withdraws, the enrollment fee will not be returned.  Students placed on our waiting list will have their fee returned if an opening is not available 10 days prior to the first day of school. 

Students may not attend class if the school does not have on file a copy of the child’s birth certificate and an up-to-date immunization form.  These two items are required by the State of Louisiana.

Enrollment requires:

  • a commitment to Christian education by the family,
  • a commitment to attend church on a regular basis,
  • a commitment from parent and child to fully cooperate with the total school program and personnel,
  • a commitment for regular prayers for the school family,
  • a commitment to the prompt payment of all fees and tuition via the FACTS tuition management system, and
  • a commitment to respect and cooperate with the faculty and staff, school families, St. Paul congregation, and the School Board.

PLEASE NOTE:  Upon acceptance at St. Paul Lutheran School, whether a new enrollee or a returning student, parents/guardians MUST register banking information with FACTS Tuition Management Company.


FOR EARLY SCHOOL THORUGH THE EIGHTH GRADE

Note:  For the 2010-2011 school year, tuition fees will be collected on a monthly basis through the FACTS tuition management system.  The first tuition payment will be debited in August.  Further information is available in the school office and on this web site.

The Registration Fee covers the cost of all hard cover books and consumable books, physical education equipment, art supplies, various cultural events, and a school yearbook.

The Registration Fee is $400.00 per child.  A deposit of $100.00 will hold a place for your child and will be credited against the Registration Fee balance which is due in full by Orientation/Registration Day in August.  There is also a required $50.00 School Support Fee and a $50.00 Parent Teacher League Fee which are also due in full by Orientation/Registration Day.

We are currently accepting students for the LOUISIANA SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE program in kindergarten through 5th grade.  Families must apply to the Louisiana Department of Education and furnish proof of residency in Orleans Parish, proof of income, and students must have attended a 'failing school' the previous year in order to qualify for these scholarships.  Contact the state's toll-free number for further information:  1-877-453-2721.

There is no additional tuition charge for the fourth, fifth, or sixth child!

EXTENDED DAY CARE PROGRAM: 
We offer an extended school day care service on days in which the school is in full session.

7:00 A.M. – 7:50 A.M. and 3:10 P.M.– 6:00 P.M.

The cost is $2.50 per hour or portion thereof.  Prepaid tickets are available as follow:

20 hour ticket:  $50.00

30 hour ticket:  $75.00

40 hour ticket: $100.00

(The same ticket is used for both morning and afternoon day care sessions.)

 

HOT LUNCH PROGRAM:

We offer a federally approved hot lunch program as a satellite school, administered by the Archdiocese.

The cost for a 20 lunch ticket is $35.00 ($25.00 for Kindergarten).

Free and Reduced lunch applications are available in the school office.
